Principal's Message
Mr. Grant Dineley
Dear Sierra Vista Families,
It is with great excitement and pride that I introduce myself as the new principal of Sierra Vista Middle School. I am honored to join this vibrant school community and look forward to working together to make this a rewarding and memorable year for every student.
I bring with me 14 years of experience in education, all dedicated to serving middle school students. Throughout my career, I have developed a deep appreciation for this pivotal stage of learning and growth. I believe that middle school is a time when students begin to truly discover who they are as learners, leaders, and individuals—and I am committed to supporting their journey every step of the way.
I am also thrilled to become a part of the Covina community. I recognize the strong values, traditions, and partnerships that exist here, and I am eager to contribute positively to our shared mission of student success. Together, I know we can continue to build a supportive and inclusive school culture where all students thrive.
At Sierra Vista, we take great pride in providing a rigorous and engaging curriculum designed to support student growth and achievement. This year, we will place a strong instructional emphasis on literacy development and the continued enhancement of essential study skills, with a particular focus on organization. These core competencies are vital not only for academic success but also for fostering lifelong learning habits. Our goal is to ensure that students are well-prepared to thrive both in school and beyond, carrying these valuable skills with them throughout their educational journey.
I am deeply committed to ensuring that Sierra Vista is a place where students feel safe, challenged, and inspired—a school where every student feels a sense of belonging and pride. I look forward to partnering with you in making this a wonderful year filled with growth, learning, and lasting memories.
Thank you for the warm welcome to Sierra Vista. I look forward to meeting you and working alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families, and, most importantly, our incredible students.
Sincerely,
Grant Dineley
Principal
Sierra Vista Middle School
